What Do Those Cords Mean?

On May 12th, our Class of 2017 graduates will march across the stage and some will be wearing a number of honor cords in addition to their hoods.  Here is a quick cheat sheet for the meanings:

Solid Gold = Students who achieved academic honors upon completion of their pharmacy degree.

Purple and White = Members of The Rho Chi Society, a pharmacy academic honors society.

Green and Gold =  Members of the Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society.

Light Blue and Silver =  Outstanding members of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists who have gone above and beyond in furthering the mission and vision of the Academy.

Red and White = Members of the Kappa Epsilon Professional Pharmacy Fraternity.

Blue and Orange = Students, who maintained membership in both American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Student Societies of Health-System Pharmacy for at least 2 years at the time of graduation, attended professional meetings, residency-focused programs, community service events, and a Practice Advancement Initiative (PAI) event, as well as, served in a leadership capacity.

Solid Blue = members of National Community Pharmacists Association who are active member at the time of graduation, held an active membership for at least half of their time enrolled in pharmacy school, and attended either the NCPA Annual Convention or Legislative Conference.
