Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy attended the Greenville Cancer Prevention Palooza

On Saturday, October 14th, the Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy attended the Greenville Cancer Prevention Palooza hosted by First Baptist Greenville and sponsored by the Greenville Cancer Society, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, the Greenville Hospital System, and St. Francis. There, pharmacy students performed blood glucose screenings and helped run the “Ask the Pharmacist” station. Other options open to participants at the event included skin, oral, and breast cancer exams, as well as free flu shots. Darshana Rana, a third-year pharmacy student, says “We reached out to 69 participants, which is an awesome number of people to reach out to! We all learned a lot from each other and the participants we screened.” The Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy is always on the outlook for ways to reach out to the community and educate on health matters, and this event was quite successful in doing so.
