Together, students, faculty, and staff from the School of Pharmacy and the College of Arts and Sciences raised more than $6700 and helped spread awareness of cancer research.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/relay-anderson-3x2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2850 alignright\" title=\"relay-anderson-3x2\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/relay-anderson-3x2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"207\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a>\u201cThe PC School of Pharmacy is dedicated to giving back to the community,\u201d said Cinda Vondergeest, Administrative Assistant in the Pharmacy Practice Department. Vondergeest served as team captain for the pharmacy school\u2019s Relay for Life team.<\/p>\n<p>The School of Pharmacy won the Best Rookie Team award for 2012. Zach Anderson, a professor at the pharmacy school, sang and played guitar during the talent show. Several other faculty and staff members participated in various events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost people, if not everyone, have at some point been touched by cancer, either directly or indirectly,\u201d Vondergeest said. \u201cI believe there is hope to find a cure for all types of cancer and events like Relay can go a long way to support that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Laurens County Relay for Life was composed of 43 teams and 435 team members and\u00a0has raised $84,253 overall this year.
