The Office of Experiential Education announces the Fall Preceptor Workshop on Thursday, October 25th from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Venue 360 in Greer, S.C. Topics will include: Habits of Preceptors - PRECEPTOR HABITS describe what a preceptor does. HABIT LEVELS describe how the preceptor displays these behaviors and abilities as well as the extent to which each is developed. Teaching Critical Thinking and Mindset - Unlike other skills that a pharmacy student learns, critical thinking requires opportunities to make decisions, problem solve, and reflect on experiences. This makes the experiential education portion of the curriculum vital to producing pharmacists that can think critically in their careers. This process can be influenced by the student’s mindset, either fixed or growth. By utilizing techniques, such as the Socratic method, preceptors can strengthen and reinforce a student’s ability to think critically. This is 4 hours LIVE CE, no charge for preceptors, and lunch will be provided. RSVP by Friday, October 12th to Lynn Thompson at or 864-938-3865.
