Tobacco Services

The Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy Wellness Center is working on expanding its programs offered to improve the health of people in the Clinton community.

Tobacco use is the #1 preventable cause of death in the United States.  Many people are aware of the health problems associated with tobacco use but don’t know where to turn for assistance with quitting.  PCSP has designed a 4-week group program meeting once weekly for 60-90 minutes to discuss the multiple important aspects of tobacco cessation. Classes will take a look at the addiction process of tobacco, review techniques and products that can help people quit, and also prepare participants for life as non-tobacco users. Each participant will also receive individual care to discuss their habits and best methods to succeed in quitting.

Program Components:

  • Class 1: Discuss common triggers for use and explore the motivation for quitting
  • Class 2: Discuss addiction, withdrawal, and medications to assist with quitting
  • Class 3: Preparing to quit & planning to stay quit
  • Class 4: Relapse prevention and strategies

Tobacco Cessation Services
