School welcomes new Director of Admissions

Katherine “Deanie” Kane has joined the Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy as the Director of Admissions. Kane arrived at PC from Columbia College on November 4.

“I believe that the number one hallmark for an admission professional is the ability to build lasting relationships,” Kane said. “I look forward to continuing this at Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy.

“We have an amazing program, and I am already enjoying sharing this with prospective students,” she said.

Kane specialized in recruiting transfer and international students as associate director of admissions at Columbia College for 13 years. While at Columbia, Kane implemented enrollment strategies that resulted in $3 million to the school each year.

Kane met enrollment goals and objectives each semester and provided leadership and strategic plans for the execution of recruitment and marketing plans. She served as a mentor for the admissions staff and planned and coordinated Open House programs and Scholars Day.

“We are delighted to have Deanie’s leadership and experience in admissions efforts for the School of Pharmacy,” said Dr. Laura Fox, assistant dean for Professional & Student Affairs and professor of pharmaceutics. “Deanie has a passion for individualized recruiting and is an excellent fit here at PC, where we are personally committed to each student’s success.”

Kane holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in human behavior and conflict management from Columbia College.

A native of Columbia, SC, Kane resides in Chapin with her husband, Steve. They have two children, Charles and Katherine.
