PCSP Philosophy Statement

Teaching Philosophy

The Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy (PCSP) provides an innovative and holistic learning environment where faculty and students work together continuously to improve pharmacy instruction and practice.

Believing that close student-faculty relationships are essential for student learning and that information technology is only one of many conduits for affecting quality education, PCSP strives to promote diverse, student-centered teaching methods that encourage students to become reflective, adaptive learners. Through its instructional methodologies, PCSP develops students capable of critical thinking, lifelong learning, and ethical decision making.

PCSP is committed to fostering in students a sense of caring for their patients in a professional and comprehensive manner. In doing so, PCSP aims to develop honest, devoted pharmacists who strive to make a difference in the lives of their patients and in the local communities that they serve.
